Brand Awareness
Brand awareness - What’s the key?
The marketplace is crowded and for small businesses the marketplace can feel stifling. It doesn’t need to be a “Mission Impossible” endeavor, however, to be noticed. Even with a limited marketing budget and no ability to hire a full-time marketing professional, a small business can stand out.
Here’s how:
Nurture your customers and clients. Studies show nearly half of consumers will pay more for goods at a business they trusted. This is huge for a small business. Make your website a source of information and inspiration which boost brand awareness. Use content marketing like videos and blogs. Videos don’t have to be highly produced. Keep it short, simple and authentic. Try Facebook Live to take your customers into your store for a firsthand look at a new product or to meet a new associate. One thing to keep in mind - tease or promote the Live event at least a few days before to give your audience/followers time to plan to tune in. That builds some excitement, too.
By networking with community groups - maybe a coffee meet-up one a month - create a goal of getting to know a local influencer or join a community event as a collaborator. Just make sure you have passion for the cause or the engagement might seem forced or, worse, insincere. And, finally, focus on the small or niche markets that make your business stand out. Personalize communication to customers in those segments - a tip that WILL make you stand out from the crowd.
